Adult Community Support Service - Full and Part Time Support Workers
The Wessex Autistic Society is a regional charity providing education, care and support services to people with an autistic spectrum disorder and their families. Due to our continuing development, we need flexible, reliable and self-motivated people who share our values to join the team.
This is an outreach support service working with adults with Asperger's Syndrome and autism both in supported living houses and in the local community. You will be involved in supporting individuals with their weekly support plans on a 1:1 basis. You must feel comfortable with ‘lone working’ in the community. Ideally candidates will be experienced with this client group and demonstrate the capability to effectively support the needs of an adult with an autism spectrum disorder. We are looking for staff that can work flexible hours in the evenings, at weekends or during the week. We are able to offer a starting salary of £13,788 per annum (pro rata), or £14,733 (pro rata) if you hold a relevant NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification. We also offer a comprehensive training programme along with support to undertake NVQ level 3.
For support worker positions, a car is required, mileage is paid at 40p per mile and any hours worked after 7pm in the evenings and any hours worked at weekends are enhanced by £1.00 per hour.
Closing Date: 29th January 2010
