Southampton Specialist Outreach and One to One
The Wessex Autistic Society has been providing specialist community support to children for six years. This service is highly regarded by families and professionals alike and has always maintained good ratings and regulators. Parents like the arrangements whereby trained staff are matched to them and their children. These relationships often prove invaluable and long lasting. The annual parent surveys reflect the importance to families of reliable support, the following quotes are just two of the many we received from our 2009 survey;
"The Wessex Autistic Society provides our family with a consistent, high quality service which enables my child to enjoy his spare time in a safe, happy, productive way. Staff are professional and caring in their approach to the tasks, as well as in their relationship with my child. It is an excellent service, relaible and of huge benefit to all our family." Service user, Bournemouth.
"Lifesaver! We wouldn't cope without this fantastic service." Service User, Dorchester.
OUR AIMS
The aim of this service is not only to enable families to have a break, but also to work with their child in helping them to develop new interests and access new activities, thereby increasing both their experience and confidence in different situations. Our staff will look at accessible existing community activities which your child has the potential to participate in, with the aim of introducing them to interests which can be maintained over the long term.
