Give a Phone a Home

You can raise money for the Society by recycling your old unwanted mobile phones. It doesn’t matter what kind of order they are in, if you send them in to us we will turn them into cash to help people with autism in the local area.

If you are a school or workplace who wishes to back the campaign, simply click here and order a fundraising box to display in your reception area. Staff/pupils/suppliers or customers can all join in. Legacy

If you feel strongly that you would like to make a lasting difference to those with autism, you can remember The Wessex Autistic Society in your will.

If, in your legacy, a donation or gift is given to the Society that brings your estate below the current Inheritance Tax Threshold, then no tax will be payable.  Your solicitor can advise you on how you can leave a gift to The Wessex Autistic Society and remove the need to pay Inheritance Tax.

Meanwhile, If you would to know more about leaving a legacy for people with autism through The Wessex Autistic Society,  please contact us or call Debbie Anderson on 01202 703584.

Payroll giving

‘Give as you earn’ is a great way to give more for less to The Wessex Autistic Society by making the most of tax breaks. By committing to give a small amount each month you can make a huge difference.

Payroll giving means that the government ‘tops up’ your donation by taking the tax you would have paid and donating that too to charity. Put simply, if you are a UK higher rate taxpayer, then by pledging just £3 directly through your wages, the Society actually receives a full £5. If you are a basic rate payer, then it costs you just £3.90 to donate £5.

Still confused? View the example figures below for a break down.

If you are taxed at the basic rate the following applies:

Amount of donation Cost to you
£5.00 £3.90
£10.00 £7.80

If you are taxed at the higher rate the following applies:

Amount of donation Cost to you
£5.00 £3.00
£10.00 £6.00

Example donations have been given, although you can donate as much or as little as you would like. For comprehensive information on payroll giving for employees and their employers, visit the HM Revenue & Customs website
