Nationwide supports Somerley 10k Run for 9th year running
The 9th annual Nationwide Somerley 10k & 5k run, held entirely within the grounds of the private Somerley Estate, attracted hundreds of runners recently and raised over £7,000 for The Wessex Autistic Society. Runners and volunteers alike braved the cold and helped make this our most successful Somerley event to date. A huge thank you goes to everyone who took part and Lord and Lady Normanton for use of their land, Ena's florsit of Westboure for donating stunning winners bouquest and Lush in Bournemouth for prizes.
Generous Corporate Donors Gave Cash, Not Cards, this Christmas
An overwhelming response to our annual Cash not Cards Campaign in 2009 saw many businesses in the south signing up to raise awareness for TWAS and save the environment, by ditching conventional cards this year. Donations were received in lieu and our stickers and for corporate literature, posters and flyers spread the news about the companies helping us this year. Far from suppliers and customers thinking it miserly, they applauded the good work participating companies have done. Why not save some time next year and join in with the scheme. Sponsor an event
If your organisation wishes to sponsor an event, it could lead to a great amount of positive coverage and impact for you. By supporting TWAS, we will join forces with you to publicise events and services, for the good of the Society and the businesses that support us. Contact the fundraising department to discuss your ideas.
Thank you
Our thanks go to every one of our corporate supporters who have helped us reach our goals in 2009. Thanks to their donations, big and small, we have been able to buy vital school equipment for Portfield, extend our information and advice service throughout Hampshire, provide better living environments, offer our service users days out and experiences to remember, and train even more of our staff to the highest level of autism specific care.
