Adult Residential Care...
The Wessex Autistic Society’s Adult Residential Care Services support adults across the full Autism spectrum, including those with Asperger’s Syndrome. Through person centered planning we seek to enable individuals to achieve and maintain a good quality of life and to actively engage in their communities.
All our residential care homes are small in scale (maximum four people sharing) and focus on the needs of the individual.
Beaminster Residences
In Beaminster, West Dorset, a terrace of three houses is home to six people with Autism. The housing is owned by West Country Housing Association with care and support provided by the Society.
Staff support is high and a comprehensive assessment of each person’s needs informs daily programmes of activity tailored to each service user’s needs and wishes.
Broadwindsor Residences
On the outskirts of the village of Broadwindsor in West Dorset, the Society has a residential service comprising four houses, Colcombe Cottage; Valley View; High House; and Croft House. The service enjoys a large amount of rural space and, in addition to accessing community facilities, provides a range of on site opportunities.
